Hy Five recognises colleagues who go above and beyond – people who take ownership, think differently and make a meaningful impact for our customers, colleagues and business. It's one of the ways we celebrate and reward outstanding contributions from across Hyve.
As part of that recognition, winners embark on an unforgettable experience together.
This time, the backdrop was Miami.
Think sunshine. Palm trees. Ocean Drive. Cuban coffee. Alligators.
As Hinesh Tailor, FP&A Manager put it:
"The Hy Five experience was packed from start to finish, from kayaking and a yacht day to an amazing food tour and exploring the Everglades."
Over several days, winners kayaked through Miami's waterways at night, travelled through the Everglades by airboat, enjoyed a yacht day on the water, toured Little Havana and experienced exclusive behind-the-scenes access to POSSIBLE and the iconic Fontainebleau hotel. The trip also included a personal development masterclass and dinner with CEO Mark Shashoua and members of Hyve's leadership team, where winners were recognised for their achievements and formally presented with their awards.
For Senior Strategy Manager, Jemima Gasson the highlights included swimming in the sea, getting up close to alligators and discovering what she described as "probably the best sandwich I've ever had" during the group's visit to Little Havana.
Director of Financial Intelligence & Reporting, Aaron Craft's standout memory was the behind-the-scenes tour of POSSIBLE and the Fontainebleau. He described POSSIBLE as "a magical experience", highlighting the opportunity to see one of Hyve's flagship events from a completely different perspective.
The experiences created plenty of unforgettable memories. But alongside the kayaking, alligators and Cuban sandwiches, another theme emerged.
I learnt what a Cubano coffee was. I learnt that Terry Crews likes Formula 1. But most importantly, I learnt what makes Hyve tick. The peopleThat theme came up again and again throughout the trip.
“What surprised me most was how well everyone got on. It was also great to spend time with members of the leadership team and get to know them beyond their day-to-day roles.”For Hinesh the opportunity to build relationships across the business was the highlight.
While every activity was memorable, the biggest highlight for me was the opportunity to build connections with colleagues from different teams and people I often see around the office but don't usually get the chance to speak with.Jemima echoed that feeling.
I've come home with a much better understanding of the work different teams do across Hyve, and some new friendships. The Hy Five experience is designed to recognise exceptional contributions, but it also reflects something central to Hyve's purpose: bringing people together to create meaningful connections and opportunities.
As this quarter's winners returned from Miami, they brought back more than stories of yachts, alligators and Cuban sandwiches. They returned with stronger relationships, new perspectives and an even greater appreciation for the people who make Hyve what it is.
