How we supported Pride Month this year

This June, the vibrant colours of Pride returned, and we embraced the opportunity to honour diversity in various meaningful ways. Check them out!

At Hyve, we believe that diverse communities are stronger, more innovative, and better equipped to thrive, and our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment is something we work towards every day. That said, we do love to celebrate with particular enthusiasm during Pride Month.

This June, the vibrant colours of Pride returned, and we embraced the opportunity to honour diversity in various meaningful ways.

First up, we supported the LGBTQIA+ community through an insightful global newsletter. This publication emphasised the importance of coming together as colleagues to celebrate our unique identities and foster a workplace culture that embraces everyone. We heard from our new members and allies of Pryde, including Pryde member, Chelsey Walsh who shared her top tips on how to be an LGBTQIA+ ally.

Chelsey Allyship at work should not be a one-month commitment, it must be an ongoing effort to support and uplift the LGBTQIA+ community. You can do it by making sure that job descriptions and interview processes are inclusive, by attending and supporting LGBTQIA+ initiatives throughout the year, and by supporting LGBTQIA+ charities through donations or volunteering throughout the year.

We believe Pride month offers us an opportunity to amplify our collective voice as a business and lean further into one of our core values - building rich connections - which is why Pryde teamed up with Microsoft, our neighbour in Paddington, London, and its LGBTQIA+ community and partners.

To showcase the power of this collaboration, on 19th June, Pryde and W.I.N. (our Women's network) joined forces with GLEAM and Women @ Microsoft, Microsoft's LGBTQIA+ and Women's networks to host an inspiring event at our London HQ. We had the privilege of welcoming Charlie Christina Martin, a British racing car driver and trans rights activist. Charlie is a trailblazer in motorsport, striving to make LGBTQIA+ history as the first trans driver in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Her remarkable journey has captivated audiences worldwide, earning her recognition on national television and in esteemed international publications.

Lily The power of personal stories underscored the importance of empathy in fostering a truly inclusive community, one where everyone, regardless of background or location, feels a sense of belonging.

“This isn’t the first event we’ve collaborated on with GLEAM, and we’re hoping to further extend our connections with other ERGs in the coming months,” said Pasha Stupnytskiy, Digital Product Manager and Co-Chair of Pryde.

To wrap up the month, we hosted our iconic Pride parties in London and in New York.

Our Pride team in London celebrated with a night of music bingo, led by the incredible Homoparody team. This lively collective of LGBTQIA+ individuals find power of togetherness and inclusivity. The event also supported MindOut, a mental health service run by, and for LGBTQIA+ people, dedicated to improving mental health and well-being within these communities.

Paul Celebrating Pride at Hyve has been incredibly rewarding and really showcases our commitment to inclusivity and support. It’s about making sure everyone feels respected and valued. As a new co-chair of Pryde, I’m excited to keep driving these initiatives and ensuring Hyve is a place where everyone can be their true selves.

Paul I really enjoyed the annual Pride Celebration at our London HQ. Musical bingo, dancing and a whole lot of fun. I’m lucky to work for an employer who embraces diversity and inclusion at the core of its business!

In New York, our Pryde team gathered at Factory380, a Manhattan venue that pays homage to Andy Warhol's iconic Factory. Indeed, Warhol openly expressed his queer identity in life and art, even when homosexuality was criminalised and suppressed in the United States. The evening was filled with music by queer artists and icons, delicious food, drinks, and dancing, creating a vibrant and memorable celebration.

A heartfelt thank you to Pasha Stupnytskiy, Paul Cockburn, Angela Cestero, HG O'Connell, our Pryde Co-Chairs, for making these celebrations possible. Their dedication and passion have been crucial in bringing our community together in such a meaningful way.

At Hyve, our commitment to championing diversity and inclusion goes beyond Pride Month. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued and celebrated every day of the year.
